Hi,
anybody understand why I would of been refused credit at curry's. Just went to buy a pc for about £800.00 on 12 month interest free credit. I was refused. Unbelievable!
I earn over £40:000 per annum and do not have anyone chasing me for money. I have a bank loan of £7:000 with my bank. That's no problem as I pay by direct debit every month with no problem. An argos card with only a couple of hundred quid left to pay until September. And my credit card is clear. Just got an iPhone from orange (£45 a month) with no problems. This has never happened to me before. I am perplexed! Any ideas?
Thanks

your ID may have been hijacked. you should get some credit references done.. Equifax and.... I can't think of the names of others!

check your own credit rating.

It could be a simple mistake.
Each sho[p/company offering credit has its own criteria so it's hard to say why you've been refused but I am not sure if the company has to tell you the reason for refusal. It might be worth your while asking for a credit rating report from experian or a company like that, just in case something has crept into your credit rating in error. It only costs about £3.

Interest free?
Sgt-Paull, no one spends their own money when they don't have to.
Does anyone else in your house have credit ? They may have a bad record which can affect you.

Thought that question might come up. I just spend it all. No savings. I get through over £2200 pound every 4 weeks. £445 a month paying back the bank loan. After rent, bills, food etc I only have about £450 pound a month to myself in my pocket. And I just spend it. Days out, dvd's, cd's eating out etc.
are you single? ;o)
It's your money...you can do what you want with it.
Lucky old you. Those were the days!

My wife recently had her phone stolen and £300 pound worth of calls made. O2 were basterds about it and we fought them for about 4 months. In the end we just had to pay it even though wehad a crime reference number. Payed them in one go about 6 weeks ago so that should be over with.

That's probably the answer, it happened to my mate same outcome bad credit reference.
Why Paul? What's wrong with that?
Sgt-Paull, why wouldn't he have £450 left over?
I think Paull's' coming from the same place as me - nice to have £450 left over after the bills are paid! That's what I meant when I said "those were the days" - I could do that too at one time, but it was many years ago now, things very different these days.
I suspect O2 have besmirched your credit record. Essential that you check it and get it amended.
