Good morning everyone - I want you to all help me. I visited another very very good friend of mine yesterday afternoon and without into going the nittygritty - this lady - due to the sale of her own house to give other half to ex husband has more or less 50-70,000 pounds in the bank. She had paid her debt and given her children a few pounds (of which I Know not) anyway yesterday I asked for £25 to pay for online tickets to see a show in a few weeks time and she told me she did not have any money. I know she wrapped up some money on ISAs but also know she left some money to pay her current rent. Now I came home and I went berserk because this lady has been impoverished for about 10 years looking for money in settees and chairs and also her friends (including myself have seen her right over the years.) I asked her what she was gonna live on and she said is back to her pension which she couldnot live on the first place. This brother of hers advised her to put it all into ISAS.. I am absolutely gobsmacked and fuming that she has gone to back to basics - watching her as if this is the way she wants it. Well I aint paying £60 for tickets for shows when I know she may not be able to "pay me". This makes me feel cr%%%p cos I am a kind person but now I have reduced myself to her level. My God why did she wrap all that money up. I would not have a quarter of what she has in the bank. Somebody out there please appease me with your answer.

The last time I ordered tickets and paid for them online the person did go and I gave them to another person who thought that the original person had paid for them therefore she went free - I am certainly not going to do this. The show can go to hell.

its her money, she can do with it as she wishes. i would be reet peeed off if a friend of mine got wind of my bank balance and turned up on my doorstep asking for cash.

so miss the show, move on. jobs a good un.

ankou the question is why did she wrap all her money so tight she (she thinks) cannot have access but in fact you can access from ISAs but she says you lose your bonus - she is learning this from her brother cos she knows fr*g all about money.

sorry bobbisox it is not in London it is in Northern Ireland but would be a good show - it was more or less or her ideas as she actually got this show on tape for last Christmas. Bobbi I am still flummoxed that she can say those words I have not got the money. It actually turns me cos I have other friends and they have not got a pot to pi$$ in and they are the kindest out.

further to Ankou's posting - yes it is her money but she has to pay for things she wants to see and why should I be out £60 on my account and then wait for 2-3 months to be paid - not on your nelly!!!!

I think you need to find some new friends. The ones you have seem to be annoying you greatly at the moment.

yingyang - I have had these friends for 20-40 years but you learn every day - no I could pack up these friends - just bypass this particular issue.
