Financial advice, paying a solicitor late

i'm needing more money advice.

some of you have helped me out with advice on about my boyfriend buying his grandads home

well, we're now in a bad situation, the loan still hasn't come through and we have a huge amount of bills to pay. we are due our solicitor his fees. we have maxed out our overdraft this month but i'm sure we will be able to pay it as soon as my boyfriend gets paid at the end of the month

however the solicitors bill is due to be paid. should i call him and tell him the situation we are in but we can bay a few days late or what should we do? we will be using him again as there is still a lot to sort out with the house
