hi there im sorry to be a pain, i have been charged with 2 counts of attempted fraud as my partner was involved too. Basically we attempted to cash our own cheques in a cheque cashing store but they rang the police fair doo's in interview we held our hands up to not having sufficient funds in accounts. Thing is i was sent to prison for fraud 4 years ago but something on the scale of £45,000 this time round its sums of £1850 & £1900 but attempts. I am really worried about prison this time round as i have a young child and was so stupid to even think about doing anything like this as i have so much to loose. Please help!

Yogi ...

I think its_me has a fair point.

He asked for help and, so far, all we've done is told him he should have learnt his lesson last time.

I'm guessing he's realised that already.

fraud is fraud, the amount isnt really relevant, especially as you should have learnt from the first conviction.
4 yrs for £45k is... a big sentence. are you sure about the facts?
I think it was 4 years "ago" ... rather than a 4 years sentence, Sassy.

Morning JJ, muchlove, red and nice bum :0) x

If he was sent to prison 4 years ago, he did get a 4 year sentence. Or am i not up yet?.....lol
Yogi ...

If he was sent to prison 4 years ago, and got a 4 years sentence ...

... he would be in prison ... not on AB.

(yeah yeah, I know about parole and remission, blahdy blah)
So, anyway ... is anyone going to actually offer any helpful advice to its_me ?

Morning All,

Please, if you don't know the answer, don't post.

If you're just going to lecture someone, don't post.

If you're just going to talk about inanities like the fact you have not yet had your porridge, don't post.

its_me is here for some help - help, or don't post!

If you want to talk nonsense please do so in ChatterBank.

All the best,

Spare Ed

Not at the same time, I hope, Yogi !

My guess is that its_me has to make a BIG play about the child, trying to become a settled family man, etc, a stupid slip by someone who has been in trouble before and has been trying to improve their life, been doing a lot of good work with victims' families, blah blah ...

... and hope for a suspended sentence, and maybe a large helping of community service.

muchlovex ... ya, that's a fair kop.

=0)
Attempted fraud is treated as seriously as fraud - the intent was there and if it weren't for the actions of the shop you would have been successful.

Certainly a prison sentence for you. You seem to think that because the amount was less it is a trivial offence. It isn't.
