Paying credit card bills

To pay a credit card bill you can go to your bank and pay over the counter with cash, cheque, or your bank card.  Could you do it with the credit card itself?

If you borrowed �5 from a friend could you borrow another �5 from the same person to pay back the original debt?

No, definitely not. You could speak to a different credit card company and transfer your balance to them. Loads of them offer interest free deals for 9 months or so.

Thanks - sounds a stupid question, but it confirmed what I thought.  I only ask as I have a "theory" on the matter...but that's all I can say.

You generally can't pay credit with credit. For example you can't pay a loan off with a credit card.

Although you shouldn't really do it, there is nothing to stop you getting a cash advance from your credit card and then using the cash to pay the bill.  Obviously you would incur a card advance fee on your credit card.

Didn't say you couldn't just generally they won't accept payment via credit cards. This is because with a debit transaction they know the money is available. Also depends how much it is. Of the loans I have had in the past when I tried to pay via credit card they said I couldn't
