will food prices go down if recession ends in few years , or here to stay ?

hi all im new here, i have noticed massive increases in food prices also our gas company have sent me a letter saying that gas prices will go up by 24 % from 1st june. are we going to be stuck in this situation for the long term or is it a short term thing untill the uk starts getting on its feet again, its depressing !! i think we have had it good for too long now.

Gas consumers have had it lucky until now - those not fortunate to be able to use gas and relient on oil are now paying 50% more than a year ago. Newspapers and politicians don't give a stuff about making a big noise about it because only a minority are impacted.
