I have applied fo HB and this being held up because the PC is taking time to come through. Would it be better for me to let the HB go ahead without the PC being taken into consideration or is it better for me to wait? I want to get as much Housing Benefit as I can obviously. Thanks.

I didn't type out of kindness - just honesty, Chrissa ;o)
Hi Chrissa - hope you get it all sorted out soon and that you get what you are entitled to. Sorry about some of the comments that have been posted here - some people are very quick to jump to conclusions (usually those who have had the good fortune not to be in the position you now find yourself in (a place where we have been too)). x
I rest my case <<<<<How do you know chrissa1 falls into that category?>>>> Very best of luck - hope everything works out chrissa1
HB can be back-dated. If they have your up-to-date forms and are aware of awaiting other info they will (should) understand all of that.

R1Geezer, you are the world first order of a prat

It's just, when you ask a question, You know what you mean but others seem to take the opportunity to put the boot in. Thanks guys.
You just have to learn to ignore, geezer..........most of the rest of us do.

Hopefully things will soon be sorted out for you. :o)
Onward and upward Chrissa, there will always be thosse who generalise with out the facts.
true mamya, and without the facts whya answer a question with an opinion?

It gets on me goat it does :)

I hadn't thought of it that way alba. That Is very true.
chrissa; (having neatly side-stepped the personal insults above) can I offer an opinion? Allow the HB to go ahead - if you can- on the understanding that when the PC comes in, you may have to pay some back. However, in the long term, the amount you get will be the same.
exactly ginge, they can back date it (The HB that is) I've found them to be very helpful not only in our case but also of my FIL's
Chrissa, I really hope they sort this out quickly for you! You really have been though enough! As for R1Geezer ... obviously someone to be ignored! We can't always chose what life hands us. Judgemental people, who have no knowledge of our ciscumstances and no understanding of what we might be going through, only make themselves look stupid when handing out disrespectful, hurtful comments! Take no notice! Hugs to you!
Question Author
Thank you for the hugs Carakeel. Also ginge for that information.

Hello again Eddie. Thank you.
OK fair enough, hands up, I apologise, I have this general aversion to giving out benefits, if you saw my tax bill you'd understand. However I accept that this is a deserving case. I'm must happier giving benefits to those that have themselves contributed throughout their lives, it's just the work shy and and general lead swingers that I object to.

I am heartened to read that R1, well done Sir.
