What would you do? Tax credit payment over £3000!

Well, today I received two unexpected payments into my bank account, one for £230 and one for £3,300 both from tax credits. I've spent it on a nice holiday and a lovely new settee. I wish...
Actually I haven't spent it all, instead I have transferred it into my savings account to earn some interest until the tax credit people realise they have sent it in error and ask for it back!!!!!!!!! Which I'm presuming they will do, when they realise their error!
Just wondering what everyone else would do in the same situation?

This happened to me about 6 years ago! The amount wasnt quite so large about a £1500 but I knew it was a mistake. I immediately phoned them, 3 times in fact and they refused to take the money back and said it would just be taken into account the following months etc. They eventually stopped all tax credits for nearly 3 years even when my OH had no work and we needed the money. I had to phone them tons and tons of times and last year we got it sorted. It took them 5 years to realise that the overpayment was written off and they owed me over a £1000 back!
