Just answered you in Business and Finance !
It won't affect me tomorrow, and I believe the local primary school will still be opening.
no, I'm gonna try and get to work but the Mersey Tunnel's will be closed so it's gonna be one almighty squeeze on the trains.. if they're on! Not looking forward to that!!
Yes
Yes
No, im going to work- and sadly for the teachers at my daughters school, so are they.

They booked the local theatre for tomorrow some months back, to see a pantomime, and have no choice now to go- it's sooooooooooooo not funny at all!
why would i?
I`m not in the public sector and I`m not due to work tomorrow anyway. It`s just as well as I fear total chaos is going to reign.
No, I'll be working but then I'm not in the public sector. Although I would still be working if I was.
I'm supposed to be going to Edinburgh tomorrow so the trains better be on!
No I'm not but there will be people outside my office and the main hospital who will be striking. I don't really think there's any point in someone striking and staying home, they should demonstrate their unhappiness at the appropriate place.
"they should demonstrate their unhappiness at the appropriate place. "

i like that i shall attempt to use it today at some point
No - I'm staying at home - nothing to do with the strike - just very thankful that I've retired before all this longer working kicks in - What about jobs for the youngsters - ther will be less room for them if everyone works longer
I won't be striking as I think in the great scheme of things they are wrong

Unfortunately the country can no longer afford the sort of pension schemes we have at the moment... based as they were on much shorter life expectancies and with fewer people taking the early retirement option. I do believe some not all public sector jobs should have an earlier retirement option though as service users do not benefit when providers are burnt out ot no longer physically up to the challenges but possibly 60 rather than the 50-55 we have now. It will still be a very good plan just not the really exceptional one it is now.
Who's on strike?

Do I need to put the News on?
Witch - but the country can still afford to pay the pensions of the Armed Forces and Police unabated - so some (more generous) pensions affordable obviously.
News coming on now !
Marmite spillage on the News.
I agree with you rowan. I am not in the public sector and luckily I will be able to work at home tomorrow as the kids school is closed. I have already had my own pension decemated and I didn't see the public sector coming out to support me. My OH is in the public sector and has no intention of striking. He is probably one of the worst hit as he is just above the level where the cuts will come but has the least amount of income to pay for it. He however doesn't think that what has been offered is that bad compared to other workers.
I'm in a position where it doesn't bother me except that I'll be able to drive past the local school at about 09.00 and 25.30 without the road being blocked by inconsiderate people on the school run
