Shared home ownership schemes

Anybody know where or how I can find out about these in my area (Northumberland)?  I am still living at home, but at the age of 33 IO really feel I should have a home of my own.  However, I am still single, and so cannot get a sufficient enough mortgage on my own to equal the value of houses here (100k min).  I have a substantial amount of money saved (for this reason) but still is not enough!  Now wondering whether these schemes are the answer, but cannot find relevant info easily on the internet.  Any suggestions?

The best place to try is local housing associations. There are several in my area, but I am not sure about northumberland. Try a search on Yahoo etc. You can choose whether to purchase a 25%, 50% or 75% share. Then you pay rent on the remaining share. You normally need at least a 5% share depending on your credit rating. The housing association normally helps you find a building society/bank that does shared ownership mortgages. Hope this helps!
