Using mobile phone in the Isle of Wight
12 Answers
I am going to the Isle of Wight soon.
I have an 02 pay monthly phone with 400 minutes included in the contract.
Will I have to pay any extra to use it in the Isle of Wight or will any calls I make be part of my 400 minutes?.

Friend of mine unwittingly spent a fortune whilst down on the south coast as his mobile roamed onto a French network. He argued the toss with his provider and
they said it was his fault for not checking and stopping the roaming feature on his phone. This was a couple or three years ago so it might have changed now, but worth a check nontheless.

Hi
I only use my mobile phone for voice calls. I receive plenty of junk texts mainly about PPI.
I did have a complaint once from a lady in a reading room at a hotel about me using a mobile phone in a room where it said No mobile phones allowed.
A man had collapsed to the floor and I was not getting any response and I was getting instructions from the 999 operator on what to do when we were waiting for an ambulance.
I am sure she would have objected to me using the mobile phone had it been her husband on the floor.
He did make a full recovery.

I live on the Cliffs near Dover, I had lots of rows with Orange years ago, because my 'phone kept selecting Orange-France(43p a minute at time) they kept telling me I must have been to France, when I hadn't. My argument was that they couldn't provide me with the service promised. I still get the occasional OF call showing, but no-longer charged for them.
