Insertion fee ( eBay) ( comes out after a certain period of time along with final value fee) in this case it will be £7.90 as the item went for £79 plus p&p £8.00 which doesn't count.
Final value fee ( eBay) mentioned above
PayPal fee ( this is where I'm confused as i thought if somebody pays an amount of money into my PayPal account, then PayPal will charge me for using this facility. So if £87 goes in ( item £79+ postage £8) then it won't be £87 that shows in my PayPal account, it will be less because of a fee.
That's what I want to know. How much will be left showing in my PayPal account from £87 going in?

It's not a moot point 'just because' PP is owned by eBay
eBay AND PP will take a fee
PP will deduct their fee before you get the money and eBay send you an invoice for the fees - big difference

Those paypal fees in ojread's link are interesting and seem to suggest that paypal will also take a share of any sales proceeds. But I've checked my ebay and paypal accounts and it doesn't seem to happen.
It looks to me that if I sell something for £20 I get £20 from ebay into my paypal account. Then when I get a monthly bill from ebay (for insertion fees of say 50p plus 10% of any sales, totalling £2.50) my Paypal account is charged £2.50. At no stage can I see a fee for transferring money to Paypal.
I can then withdraw my £17.50 from my Paypal account into my bank account whenever i want and there is no fee there either.
But that makes me wonder how Paypal makes its money,
