I have had a card payment leave my bank account for £14.95 titled LV8* GB Discounts. I have no idea what this is. I have called the bank and all they can tell me is that it is a subscription (I haven't subscribed to anything) and they are going to try and cancel it for me. Does anyone have any idea what this is? Thanks.
i have just noticed the same payment gone out of my account LV8* GB Discounts for the same amount £14.95 on 10th October, i found it strange because i have just been in hospital and have not used my card in some time. I looked back at my statements and noticed it was also taken out of my account last month 10th September and i have no idea what it is for, i am about to contact my bank now. If anybody has any information it would be appreciated, thanks
Often it turns out to be a simple explanation- maybe the name on the statement wasn't what you'd have expected or someone in the family has used the card. I hope you find out soon to put your mind at rest
i have just spoken to someone from my bank(halifax) they have informed me that the payment was taken out by Dell computer systems and that i should contact them, i find this strange as i have brought nothing at all from dell
I have just had the same thing and realised that it is the Great British Discount free trial scheme. I inadvertantly joined when through KandCo there was an offer for a pre paid £20.00 Mastercard. Not reading emails properly when they came through I didn't in the end claim the £20.00 card or realise that I would need to cancel membership after 30 days! Lesson learnt.

Thanks Becksta- I think there is a good chance that Helenrogerson and gough123 inadvertently subscribed in the same way. Quite often 'free trials' turn into a subscription

hi becksta, i remember something about a prepaid mastercard, i received no card and didn't realise i had subscribed to anything, can i please ask how you contacted them to cancel and receive a refund as i did not receive any email about a subscription and had forgotten all about applying for the card, thanks.
I had the same problem. Turns out my parter ticked a box when he bought something from Millet Sports online for a 30 day free trial of shopper discounts. I rang them up 08000962925 and the guy there was very helpful and cancelled the subscription and is arranging a refund. Will let you all know if and when it turns up.
I had the same issue, turned out flybe were the culprits, I'd signed up to some cash back scheme when I bought flights. (never got the cash back strangely enough and of course nowhere did it mention that I'd soon be paying £15/month for non-existent discounts.).
It was quite easy to sort out, phoned my bank and got the number of the firm (which I've forgotten now). Supposed to get a refund within the next 10 days.
