My partner earns £35,500 yearly. How much mortgage is he likely to be offered on his own please?

One would expect each BS or bank to have their own criteria set out as well
Halifax says you can borrow up to £168,000

and with each other debt, credit card, loan etc you have the amount you can borrow will be reduced
Plus they will only lend you the money if you already have a decent sized deposit to put down (30%?) or money from a house you are selling.

They are not going to lend £168,000 on a house worth £168,000
