Am now. Travelled home from weekend with family. No heatingb on train. When asked why was told over head air conditioning. Why heating vents at lower knee level? Changed trains, rain chucking it down, waiting room awash. No heat on second train. Arrived at station, needed to change platforms for my exit. Got on lift, traversed lower concourse, up lift not working. No way out. Trailed back. Lift up, to original platform. Humped case down stairs, (no underpass with slope) traversed lower concourse (parallel to other one, divided by metal fence). Got halfway up stairs lugging case when nice young man, going in opposite direction offered to carry my case. Joy! When mentioned to station staff that the lift was not working they denied knowledge of it. Still chucking it down so got a taxi instead of two buses.
Home! The newspapers I had cancelled were all on the mat. Turned on the boiler. Zilch. No central heating, no hot water. Rang letting agents. Within an hour another lovely young man had fixed the boiler. Now comfy cosy.
Thanks to those who actually helped today. The others......
