Right, i took out a finance agreement with a company.  As far as i was aware, it had all been accepted for the grand total of 1740.40.  Now, for the last 2 months no money has been taken out of my bank for payment of this.

Please at this point keep in mind that i have recieved my goods.

I've just however recieved a telephone call saying that the application i made for finace was sent to an underwriters who have now declined the finance agreement.

What are my rights regarding this now?  The company have sent me the items, surely this isn't my fault??

This is dealt with by the Consumer Credit Act. Until the afgreement ahs been entered into either party can withdraw. They will then be entitled to have the goods back, when they ask for them.
just accept that u havent got the agreement and then enjoy the goods until they want them back! hopefully they will forget!
If you took a tenner out of an ATM and your bank statement showed -1000 instead of -10 would you expect your bank to throw their hands in the air and say "surely this isn't my fault" and insist that you're out of pocket?

You're now required to return the items. Mistakes happen.
Send the goods back or look elsewhere for a loan and pay them.
