Anyone Know Nhow To Fix A Stair Lift?

I have the tool but can't find the plance to insert it to give it a wind up. This is all it needs but I am damned if I can locate the placwe to insert the small implement that comes with the stair life=t.

What stair lift is it? many makes and models.

I think it is usually on the higher side of the chair and you will see directional arrows that will indicate which direction for up or down, the insertion hole maybe covered by a blanking plug, you will need to remove this first to insert the tool.

I will lool now and let you know. It is a Stratus ST. I was shown when it was first installed how to free it if it got stuck as it was supplied with a small tool which is a steel rod with a plastc round "handle" and at the other end is a stainless steel hexagonal socket which I know sould be inserted and given a turn or two to reset the lift.

I have located the hole and wound the stairlift up a few inches and reset the trip switch but it still will not work. I have checked all the on/off switches. The trouble is that there is an "arm" that will be permanently down across a key doorway and I cannot return that to its store position without getting the chair moving.

I imagine the battery is flat, you will probably need to wind the chair to the top or the bottom so it can recharge.

Thanks. I have wound it up and also got it to move in short spurts of action proving it is not a fuse. I will leave it alone for now. It was grandchildren who did it!!! I have got the arm to go back into its correct position as well.

Still sounding very much like the battery, it will need to be at the top or bottom of its travel to charge up.
