Is it still better to pay a holiday with a credit card as opposed to a debit card? Charges for using the credit card are ridiculous

I always pay by Debit Card as there is no charge, you can pay up to 3% more by using a Credit charge .Flaming daylight robbery.
I pay the deposit with a credit card and the rest either in cash in store or by debit card that way you will be covered if the company go bust and you won't be paying as much in credit card fees. I know if the company is one of the ATOL protected ones you are covered but it gives you a bit more security. By paying just the deposit by credit card the whole amount is covered.
Good advice by The Shedman, but note that the deposit has to be greater than £100 for the protection to kick-in.
You have to learn to play the system.
