Has Camelot shot itself in the foot by doubling the price of a ticket to £2.00 I know of several people on low income but dream of winning big who say they will now only buy one ticket instead of two, also I am part of a pub syndicate that plays every Wednesday and Saturday for 8 weeks at a time meaning we all pay £16 a time at the moment, it is hard enough to get that much stake money out of the members as it is but when it goes up getting £32 is as the members are saying "asking too much" so we have decided to quit altogether, I have heard of many more syndicates that are now going to stop playing over this issue.
Camelot are blowing their trumpet saying the prize money for 3 balls will rise from £10 to £25 but what they are not so keen on telling the public is that the prize money for 5 + the bonus ball & below will all decrease considerably,
so what does everybody else think?

People might buy less tickets as a bulk, but more people will buy single ones.

I've said this before, but it's not called the working class tax for tax- sales won't be affected.

I think they're being greedy and I'm sure people will buy fewer tickets. However, if everyone buys half the amount of tickets, Camelot are still receiving the same amount of money. Do they care?

Lol, robinia i wish it was that simple. I used to spend a pretty penny year after year and then decided ver going to be me so then put the money i would usually spend in a jar like smokers do when they quit and used that money to treat myself to a holiday or to by shoes, handbags or jewelry.

im going to stop playing when they charge 2 pound a ticket, might try the health lottery or even thunderball but then again i might put the money i would have spent into a jar and leave it for 12 months !

Well yes - but it can be argued it's what makes poverty tolerable
