Your solicitors should have advised you to write up an agreement to cover any eventualities as tenants in common.
There is very little you can do to force your friend to sell her interest, the best you can do is make her a very good offer for her interest which may mean you paying over the odds for her share.
You need to sit down and talk with her, she may well want to keep her share, especially in the current market where house buying is so expensive.
