Tesco's £300.000
30 Answers
Heard today that Tesco were fined £300.000 for false advertising. While I'm glad they did I can't help wondering where or who got that £300.000?
All the money thats paid to the courts who's bank does that go into?
It never seems to be talked about.
I was shocked to hear too £14 Million was put into the governments coffers each YEAR from people who do not make a will & who's relatives can't be traced. Disgusting it should go straight to the NHS.

It is not unreasonable to think that if that £14m were paid straight to the NHS then £14m would be wiped off the money they receive from the government.
The government doesn't have money. It is our money, the taxpayers. It doesn't go in to the PMs pocket but is used by the treasury as it thinks fit.

Tesco wasn't fined for undercharging for too long on perishable goods (it can perfectly legally sell at a tenth of the current price for the rest of eternity if it so chooses). Tesco was fined for incorrectly describing the strawberries as "half price" which was a misleading phrase and a breach of consumer trading regulations.
