My boyfriend bought an MG car about four months ago. they still to this day haven't taken the money from his account (we're talking a lot of money). Where does he stand on this and does anyone know his rights and what happens if not taken in the future.

he'll have to pay if or more likely when they realise. So keep the money ready.

I think the onus is on your boyfriend to make every effort to contact the dealers and sort out the payment, otherwise he could technically be accused of theft. Sounds daft, I know, but better to be safe than sorry. Keep a record of all communications. Hound them!
i personally would contact the citizens advice bureau, you can phone them without having to give your name. Ive been to them with several financial 'things' and they have always been great. well worth the phone call

The money will always be theirs, no matter how long it is before they ask for it. Keep it somewhere safe and enjoy the interest in the meantime!

I would say that giving them your credit card number, or whatever is was you gave them, is reasonable evidence of being willing to pay, so I don't think theft would be an issue.
