How out of control have your debts become?
Whatever action you take the chances are it will impact on your record history if you are struggling to make the repayments each month. If the debts are less than 5k I would look at getting a loan to pay off the expensive debts like credit cards. Anymore I would look at getting a loan against the house to clear them,
Also dont avoid your bank, there are account managers who can help you and other areas of the bank who could help reduce your repayments. Remember if you go to the charities who reduce payments by talking to your creditors you will have to move your account if you have an overdraft or loan with them so always start with your bank first.
