How Much Should It Cost To Replace A Laptop Power Jack?
5 Answers
My son's laptop won't charge, and the power drains even when plugged in. I have an identical model, so he changes the batteries over whenever the one in his has run out.
The problem is the same whichever battery or charger he uses, so I assume the fault is with the power jack.
Is this likely to be correct, and how much should it cost to repair? Is this a standard job for a computer repairer?

A charger complete with cable and plugs could cost as little as a tenner. It depends upon make and model number of the laptop. The following link will give you an indication of prices :-
