Small Business For Students

please advise me..

am a Lebanese computer science student. i want to start a small business to cover my studies and life expenses but have no idea about business world. i can get about 7000 $ or little more for starting.

what you advise me?

If you have $7000 available that should go some way to covering the cost of studies and life expenses. In the early days of starting a business you may have to invest a lot of time and money for little early reward. If the income stream is low will you still have enough to meet living expenses?

thank you, the 7 grands are from a sponsor whom will gave them to me only to be invested in a business,so i dont actually have them. and yes you are right, early days consumes a lot of time and money but

i don't get how you will get time to be a student AND run a business. A start up business can be extremelky time consuming (imagine 100 hrs + a week)

And if you have "no idea about the business world" the last thing you should consider is starting a small business with somebody else's money whilst studying.

However, before worrying about that (and assuming you are studying in the UK) you need to read this:

If you're an international student you may be allowed to work here when you're studying.

If you do work, you can't:

•run a business
•work for yourself (self-employed)

Good point, NJ - if you're a full-time overseas student in the UK, there are restrictions. Or are you planning to start the business in the Lebanon?
