It might take a day or two to show up, but it will be processed to your bank account for you by whoever cancelled the sale and gave you the slip.
If the shop gave you a credit slip from an electronic card machine, the transaction will be credited to your account. You don't have to do anything.

Thanks for your help have never had anything like this before.
You don't have to do anything. The system will return the money to your account in the same way as it takes money out of it when you buy something.
...and i was too slow !!!
You have authorised a deduction from your account.
Your bank removed the money from your account ready to send to the seller.
The seller won't follow through so the instruction will lapse.
Your bank will automatically return the money to your account.

Umm no - not in this case. OP has been given a refund slip - which means the money has already been taken and is gone. It has to be returned as a separate transaction

It can take a day or two longer to show up than a sale
