Does anyone know where I can find the inbranch rate for euros from the post office (or what it is)? I can only find their order-online rate.

The rate is displayed in the window of my local post office.
Are you sure it's (that) different, anyway?
I have nearly always found the Thomas Cook rate slightly better than the PO one and if you order them on-line and pick up in store you get a better rate again. You pay when you pick them up so if you pay cash your bank if like mine wont get to charge you for the privilege of buying foreign currency.
You may also find that the PO has a variation in rates in different parts of the country . ( which is not unique to the PO , incidentally )

The Post Office is the last place I would go to,potter, speaking from experience.
