Price Cutting

Where will it end. I have just received an offer from sports direct offering
90 per cent discount on clothing and footwear. How can they do it and make a profit. I think the old days were best when R.P.M. retail price
maintenance was applied. You could at least save up for an item and when you had saved enough the price would still be the same.

Bigger companies can offer massive discounts and sale prices as they can afford to sell some things at a loss because they make money on other items.
I'm sure most of us have bought things that we really wanted and needed at a good price and wouldn't have been able to afford to buy it at the RRP otherwise.

Dont be fooled by all those ' massive savings ' ' price reductions ' ' 1/2 price ' etc etc
They can up the price , for eg - from £100 to £ 130 ( in one store , out of hundreds ) in one part of the country , for a brief perod of time ,then bring it back down to £ 100 and advertise the item in all it's stores as ' massive savings ' etc etc .
At the end of the day - a bargain is only a bargain if you think it's a bargain
