It's a scam, delete it.
You've been lucky (or careful) if you've never had them before. I get several every day on some of my email accounts.
The most recent issue at the moment is I'm getting about five a day about my required attendance at court. They never seem to know my name though
So you have not got a Barclays bank account, but now you have an email from them you think is a scam.

So what do you think?

Of course it is a scam

The people who send out these emails are HOPING that the people who get the emails have got a Barclays Bank account.

If you send out enough emails (and these people send out millions) then you are bound to get lucky and find some people who get them are Barclays customers and fall for the "con".

ALWAS ignore any sort of email you get like this, from any sort of organization, they will always be a scam.
oh aye. what you been up to, factor?
All banks state that matters relating to customers accounts are never dealt with by email regardless of importance or urgency.
You could forward it to Barclays themselves -

[email protected]

And then delete it.

Most banks have an email where you can forward any dodgy emails. Don't know what they do with them (if anything), but I get a strange satisfaction from forwarding them.
My "accounts" with lots of Banks that I dont use suspend my account every day. Delete. Never click on anything is a good idea. Opening it ok. clicking not ok.
You are not too late, just do not click on the link, just delete the message, no harm done.

Thanks for your replies and after reading them I realise I should have known better ,And factor I've never had anything like that it looked so genuine
And the wife looking over my shoulder saying it could be important to some poor soul didn't help
Thanks again
Bentaxle - remember that your wife is always right. You may well have helped someone else by posting this.
Don't click any links in the E/mail. However, just hover your mouse pointer over the address you have given and you'll see an address that is Not Barclays.

It's a 100% Scam. :-
