Purchasing necklace in the US

We are trying to buy a necklace in the US but neither my son's nor my credit card "Visa" are being accepted.    What can be wrong?

Some merchants will only accept US credit cards because they cross check the credit card number against the address.

Remember if you buy from the US and the good's value is more than �18 you'll have to pay customs charges and post office fee.
