Another Scam?

Caller says he is from Windows Operation system. Calling from Bristol. Something about malicious software. Will I please turn on my computer?

No, I say , I am having breakfast ....you will need to ring later.

Caller rings off.

The number was 017187589741 .

This must be a scam?

If you get a suspicious phone call and have the number just Google the number and you will get shed loads of info.

I had a call this morning from 002050189195.I didn't answer and caller didn't leave a message. Tried googling the number but got " no results"

Quinie, you have too many 0 at the beginning of your number. Enter it to Google as 02050189195 and you will get results then.

whocallsme is brilliant. I've used it in the past. Also, register with the TPS http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html
Although I don't think they can block calls from abroad, I have cut the number of nuisance calls by at least 80% since registering for free

yes this must be a scam

I think somewhere on the windows site there is a bald statement that they never do this
