Buying a concrete Build Flat
IM buying a flat in essex, ive had survey (no results yet) Ive given the estate agent �500 deposit to take property of the market. Ive instrucetd the solictor aswell. Now my lender I think is happy to mortgage the property but I am paying a higher premium anyway as im selfemployed. Now I just found out that the property is concrete build as its a renovation of a commercial building the outside and inside are to a decent standard. But IM worried I might have trouble selling it as not all major lenders lend on it. Who should I contact? The estate agent, my solicitor, do I need to get an independent survey done? Im thinking I should pull out, I might loose my deposit help please.

I recently applied to purchase a "concrete" house and was accepted but the lender insisted on a full structural survey. We did pull out because something else came on the market we preferred but I know many people in this area who have bought such builds. Because this is a new construction it should come with a NHBC guarantee for 10 years.

Yes it has a 10 year zurich guarantee, the suvey said it was a 1960s concrete build, good condition. he said demand for saleabiltiy with vacant possesion was "fair". As it is a new property he said that if a comparable one came about i might not get same value as original price. that makes common sense?
Also most high street lenders lend on most residential properties smaller lenders cant afford to take that risk? Any thoughts?
