A wholesale job lot this morning I fear. Unsolved clues in every quadrant. 1 across. Clue: Something like a monitor screen initially unpacked again US manufactured (6). I have: ?G???A. I thought maybe IGUANA but can't quite see why. 3 down. Clue: Spot bar opening for Jonathan perhaps (5). I have: ??P?E. If the answer to 1 across is IGUANA then this solution begins with A so maybe APPLE but again why?16 across Will perhaps trade francs for lire (4). I have: S?L? I know there's a Will Self and maybe WILL can mean SELF but can't see where francs and lire come in unless they are L&F. 23 down. Clue: Passing appeal to head of state (5). I have O?ING so must be OPING or OWING? 27 across. Clue: Old judge working to follow French novelist (6). I have: ???E?N. Might be SIMEON although I had an idea he was Belgian. Lastly; 25 down. Clue: Indian address of gentleman one's put down (3). I have: S?? the last letter of this solution is the second letter of 25 down. Much help needed here please
