Prosearch And Equinity
8 Answers
I have received a letter out if the blue today, addressed to myself and my late husband. The letter/form states that I am due £1017.80 from Lloyds Bank Group.
The old address on the form that they had for us is correct, albeit an address we lived in, in Northern Ireland during the 80's.
I googled Prosearch and from that rang Equinity who confirmed that indeed this money was owed to me. They would charge me £95.00 per account so would deduct 2 x £95 from the sum.
Prosearch state that they would deduct 12.5% plus VAT from the sum owed.
I haven't got my calculator on me.
Which is the cheaper option and the easier one?

12.5% of £1017.80 = £127.23. Add VAT at 20% = £152.67 £95 x 2 =£190

Equiniti, Is the Lloyds Bank Share Dealing Dept. I guess it's like a bank charging £10/sheet for an old bank statement. So, £152.67 is a lot less than £190.
Still a nice windfall.
Thanks Baldric. I have a calculator on my IPad but had started writing my post before doing the sum. I didn't want to lose what I'd typed. :/

Before you pay anything, you should read this, it's from 2011 but may be relevant still. If it involves only a change of address it may not cost so much if you contact the Registrar directly.
