Hello

We are buying a french house and want a mortgage over 12 years. We have no dependents, therefore nobody to pass the property onto when we die. Are there any schemes available that would make the mortgage more attractive.

Thanks

I am not sure if there are people on here conversant with the French Mortgage system, but in this country the fact that you do not have any dependants would not make any difference. All the lenders are concerned about is your ability to repay.
