Found these clues OK, but 3d 'Food made of dough by middle of day' (5) p-s-a must be PASTA. Get the final 'A', but what is the link between 'dough' (presumably money) and 'past'?

Thanks DannyK and Scorpiojo. So definition part of clue is the whole of 'food made of dough' - easy for me to miss the significance of a little preposition like 'by'.
