My payday falls on the 28th of December 2015, I recieve it via standing order and I'm a bit confused as to when I should recieve the money. Last month I recieved it on a Friday as the 28th fell on a Saturday. The 28th of December is a bank holiday, plus the 25th is Christmas Day, Boxing day is the 26th and 27th is a Sunday.

I estimated that I would properly recieve the money on the 24th December. Do you reckon there's a good possibility I could be right?

In my opinion yes.
Sounds reasonable...but you could confirm the date by asking your employer.
Why not ask your employer what date they are running the payroll?
Most places pay early for Christmas.
It is absolutely OK to ring your employers pay office and ask them

You dont even have to say - coz of Jan 1 st standing orders - they will kinda know

again most pay early

One year the union steward got a fortnight's pay on 14 Dec
and said to me: " Only one person has said thank-you and that was the most Tory of them all - YOU ! "
[ and I simpered, reflected on the ingratitude of man and said ' cest la vie bebe ' ]
My pay day is the 28th of the month unless it is a weekend and it is always on the Friday prior to payday. This year due to the holidays we have been informed that payday will be 24th December. I would presume that yours would be the same.
