Copy Of Death Certificate
not really sure where I should be posting this question, but thought I'd try "Law" first.
My stepfather in law has just died (he was 98) and my mother in law- his wife - is trying to get a copy of the death certificate, so she can start claiming her widow's pension and she will have to have a copy to prove to the DWP that she is now a widow. She is currently estranged from her stepchildren (long story) but there must be a death certificate, because the burial has now taken place. Does anyone know where she can get hold of a copy, please ..... any suggestions much appreciated. Cheers, Chox.

thanks for all your help folks. Rang the local town hall, and requested a couple of copies of the DC for my mother in law. They said it would take at least 5 working days, but the copies arrived in this morning's post, less than 24 hours later! Amazing service - and the staff at the Register office were very helpful. Mother in law is delighted. Cheers again, Chox.
