I bought a new car nearly a year ago and the garage sent me a letter asking if I want to renew the breakdown service. I emailed them to agree. Unfortunately I missed two phone calls from them in two days so I rang them today and paid for it over the phone. Quick and painless. Now I'm wondering how safe it was to have given them my card details. It is a well known international company.
Any thoughts?

Well I've paid for quite a few things over the phone and nothing bad has happened.
It is a common way to make payments - don't worry about it
Probably no problem.

Just to clarify another point, was the car New or secondhand? My last New car came with manufacturers warranty and 3yrs free breakdown cover.

Thank you all. I've never given my card details over the phone before so I was just wondering.
SlackAlice, it was new but only 1 year free. Can't remember if that was the deal or if I asked for it that way.
Thanks again.
I've done it hundreds of times. It'll be fine.
