Free Tv Licence

I know that you are eligible for a free TV licence when you are 75 - and you can apply when you are 74. What I'm not sure of is the fact that the TV licence is in my name and I'm not nearly 75 (obviously :-)) but Granddad G is Can we still apply or can I transfer the licence into his name ?

You can apply in your own name but you will need to give Granddad G's name, date of birth and NI number. You can apply from the month before his 74th birthday
