Bank Holding Funds From Amazon Transactions How Long ??

Hi there I made 4 transactions total £54 on Thursday last week and the same day I cancelled them. Rather annoyingly that amount is still pending in my account. It seems they freeze the money in your account when you place the order and that affects your available balance. i dont know when this will be released and is this normal?

would have thought that when you bought tthe items you paid Amazon using your bank account for payment and now the bank has to wait for Amazon to refund them/you. They need to be sure for example that Amazon has not already started to despatch the items (I know sometimes I have bought something late at night and it arrives next morning). It may (or may not) also depend on whether you bought from Amazon directly or via their marketplace. The weekend bank holiday yesterday is probably a factor too.
I would ring the bank if you need the money quickly.
