11a Describing one with the understanding of the devil. Ans is cloven hoofed (or hooved)
22a The part of the charge threatening evil . Ans is sinister.
I'm stuck with the parsing.
I know the devil is supposed to have cloven feet but I don't get the "with the understanding" bit.
No idea how 22a works
Interesting these clues popped up https:/ /www.th eanswer bank.co .uk/Qui zzes-an d-Puzzl es/Cros swords/ Questio n107368 2.html but 22a wasn't answered and 11a wasn't parsed.
Thanks

The charge in heraldry is the emblem on the shield so the part threatening evil would bethe left side. Left in Heraldry is sinister.
