4 Answers
hi i am starting a new job tomorrow. i have the usual personal allowance of around 11.5k. So far in this tax year i earned around 4.5k. i wont earn enough in the next 2 months to take me over my allowance
when i give the p45 to the new employer, will i get tax code which means i will pay no tax for the rest of this financial year, or will i get the usual tax code, pay tax on my earnings and then get a refund later in the year?

but ideally, as FF said, you should give your P45 (if you have one) to your new employer as soon as possible.
