A Cashless Society A Good Idea Or Not
56 Answers
I went to Vodafone today in the High Street in my town to buy a new phone. I had the cash on me but I was told they could not accept cash as it was a cashless store. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous. I had to pay by debit card. They said they were moving with the times as they think in 10 years time society will be cashless. Really? Behind me was an elderly woman who wanted to top up her phone with a £10 note they couldn't help her. What do others think ?

There is more pros than cons of a cashless society
Not having to carry cash around on you , for security reasons - companies not having to incur the costs of processing cash
However there will always be a place for cash for some time to come yet .
Personally , i like to feel a bit of folding in my hip pocket

People get mugged these days for their mobile phones and cash cards. Mugging never happened in the 50s when we all had pockets weighed down with heavy coins. Just imagine the chaos that would happen with mislaid , lost or stolen cards. Children would get targeted as easy pickings. Just think of all the extra paper that would be needed for all those millions more receipts.
