does it go to a post office account?
If it's in a linked account then that's your business and no-one else's
the powers that be may wonder what you're living on if you're also on pension credit ...
As Tom Jones said "it's not unusual"- pensioners quite often get admitted to hospital for example and can't collect their pension for a period.
In Ireland, which is all I could find, it can only sit there for 8 weeks. I think you should ask the question, I bet there are others in the same situation. https://www.pensionsadvisoryservice.org.uk/contacting-us
Surely it's not "in the Post Office"....but in an account in your name?
Can you arranged to have it transfered to your bank account from now on? That way you can pay by card when you need to or get cash at the cashpoint. Once you are ready to go out of course.
