Lots of elderly people now not receiving their pensions.

Sorry if that seems a bit callous but just wondering if a anyone has calculated the possible savings.

Maybe best to wait for a final number of deaths before doing the sums . ( what a strange question ).
A bit morbid Tilly.

I know it's a strange question, Anne. Mr T and I were discussing where the money the government are paying out has come from and I thought about state pensions.

Tilly , have you a link please ?
Ours goes in our Bank each month and so far has been fine,
Is it those that still collect theirs?
Impossible to calculate. Since the majority of victims are elderly and suffer from poor health in one way or another how can we know how many would have died a little later anyway?
Question Author
No, not morbid. Just realistic, Danny.
Have you got a link Tilley. I dont know anybody who isn't receiving their State Pension. Is it a particular section of pensioners?
Lots of elderly people now not receiving their pensions.

Is this true, we are getting ours.
i can only guess that the savings on state pensions is a tiny drop in the ocean of what the government has spent

maybe 30000 pensioners including care home ones have died early.Lets round to £200 pw. that's £ 6m week. Depends how much longer they'd have lived. but it will be offset by any tax they paid and the ta of those who died of working age. Not much compared to the many tens of billions it is costing the economy.
Question Author
No, no link, Bobbie. I was just wondering, that's all.

I know, Naomi. I wish I'd kept my musings to myself. :-)
Or are you wondering about the many elderly that’s succumbed to this deadly virus, that it may be their money getting paid out?
Ah, you are talking about saving pension costs due to deaths. I didnt understand that initially.
‘ seems a bit callous ‘ you think ?
It’s an interesting question and quite easy to understand unfortunately I don’t have an answer
Not at all Tilly, I think it’s a question worth asking
> Is this true, we are getting ours.

Because they are dead, SK
App, yes, the dead ones won't be receiving theirs.
Question Author
Yes, I was referring to deaths. Should have said that.

'Lots of elderly people now not receiving their pensions because they are dead.'
