Does anyone knows how the JRS grant is paid?
I received a payment and not sure how it is worked out against the net pay of the normal take home pay. Not sure how long it supposed to pay out for.
Has anyone received their grant and knows how it was worked out or how long it supposed to be paid out for?
Thanks in advance.
Look on the gov.uk site instead - I don't see anything confusing there. A director can furlough himself/herself and pay 80& of earnings but dividends don't count as earnings
I asked the accountant to make a Jrs grant claim for a myself is a director of a limited company (cafe) and I employ two other part time staff.
I have agreed to pay 100% during the lockdown period. The cafe is still closed.
It might be best to find another one man band accountant to help you while the other is unwell. Just to make sure the sums are correct and that you are claiming everything you are entitled to. Have you claimed the business grant from your local authority for example?
I don't think myself is eligible for the furloughed money. It is the staff that should be qualified. The accountant has applied in early April and I have received money in the business account.
However, the amount been credited does not corresponds to the 80% of total staff gross pay for 3 months.
It will be a question for the accountant...
Thanks for all the responses..
I have worked it out the payment received from the furloughed grant for the staff. It is based on approx 9 weeks of pay, from 23rd March to 13th May.
You seem to be using the incorrect term of GRANT which confused us. The 3 months figure only applies to grants for self employed. The furlough payments are based on normal pay cycles (weekly, monthly) as you have now realised. There should be a further payment to come in June if you are still claiming
