My step mother is 94 hard of hearing and can`t get out without help , she had a letter from DWP to have her pension paid into bank instead of post office , is it a case of just letting DWP know her bank details or does she have to go through the bank i can`t find any advice on yougov and getting through by phone is nearly impossible
bobinwales no i have only talked on the phone and she gets confused and is hard of hearing so can`t get much sense ,i can`t get over there and she won`t ask her helpers as she fell out with them , i`ll get age Cymru on it, thank you
If she has to go to the post office to collect her pension can she post you the letter while shes there? Or ask at the post office- there usually helpfull in my experiance
Yes it is, the DWPs contract with the Post Office ends in November. They are writing to everyone who uses the PO to receive their pensions and benefits
The change has been publicised and it's not unknown for scammers to piggyback on such things and send out fake letters asking people to call and furnish bank details.
