Yes. You go to your accounts and update the card details. Some companies will let you know your card has expired. I usually change mine towards the end of the month the card expires.

You might have to because the expiry date will have changed. Depending on the card issuer the account number might also have changed eg, I got a new card from Tesco and they have moved from Visa to Mastercard so the account number is different.

i should get my new card sometime soon according to the bank - but surely it won't be valid till the old one expires... as its april 2021 would that be end of that month

I have a DD with the NHS and when I changed cards I didn't have to do anything. It carried on as normal.

In my experience, debit and credit cards can be used on arrival - subject to any validation (which varies with card issuer).

The moment you use the new one it invalidates the old one. So if you get cash from an ATM you will then have to change the card in your on line accounts

There is usually an overlap and some issuers allow both to be used at the same time. The advice is to destroy the old one once the new one has been activated.

it depends....some websites will want you to change the expiry date that they hold as they have no way of knowing that you have got a new one.

The new card will arrive usually about a month before the old one expires and will be valid from the day you receive it. So you will have two valid cards, for a time, but you are advised to destroy the old card.
You may find that although you will have the same PIN for your new card you will need to used the new card with the PIN before you will be able to use it as a Contactless card.

Yes simply just use it a card machine to check balance or withdraw money and it will be validated and can be used as a contactless card (if your card has that feature)

Hi emmie, if the debit card is from the same bank as your old one, it should have the exact numbers.

In my (vast lol) experience you don't need to do anything.
