xmas gifts how much do you spend?

just wondering if there is anyine out there with 4 teens? lol we have 4 plus a nine yr old interesting to know how much you spend at xmas altogether including food and drink etc? thanks carlyx

A good figure is 0.25% of how much you earn per year.

Well, the above is per person just to keep it fair so with 6? of you it will be 1.5%.

You spend as much as you think reasonable. With food it is easy to get carried away at Christmas and so much is wasted. Will you all eat those Christmas pies, yule log, Christmas pudding, Christmas cake, bowls of nuts, Quality Street, etc etc? With presents, you need to spend what is reasonable again according to how much you earn. Don't spend more than you can. People get themselves into debt and end up paying of credit card bills with interest because they cannot afford to pay it. Children want a lot but they get bored with their presents. I would say no more than �100 each but I don't know how much you are earning so that might sound a lot. The old saying is you must cut your cloth according to your pocket. Well it goes something like that anyway. You can always say we can get expensive goods in the sale after Christmas if they wait a few days.
